This plant has 5 funny reviews and one ill-informed criticism, so I'm going to write this because I care about this community. I hope it informs someone who is checking out CGS because they're interested in nuclear power.Hydroelectric kills 1400 people per thousand terawatt hours, solar 440, and wind 150. There are less than 50 confirmed deaths from nuclear power in all of history. Of the remaining ~4500 suspected cancer deaths, 4000 are from Chernobyl, and the other 500 are from 1957.Wind power killed 14 people, just in the UK, just in 2011. Wind and solar kill half a million birds each year. Dams kill 1 in 5 fish that pass through them. This isn't even getting into the environmental catastrophe it would take to produce millions of solar panels or countless thousands of wind turbines. Most of the spent fuel in the world can be reused by the next generation of reactors, and the leftovers could fit in a small building. Nuclear isn't perfect, but it could be pretty close if we stopped wasting research potential and investment money on dead ends that aren't scalable.

The plant itself is nothing to worry about and is surely a safe facility. On the other hand more than 500 acres of surrounding ground and 53 million gallons of highly contaminated ground waste surrounding. Anyone disputing the fact that this is a highly toxic area is trying to sell you something or save their land investment. The Tri-cities area is biggest welfare recipients/hypocrites in USA costing tax payers $2 billion a year as a ☢️ litter box of toxic waste. Don’t take my word for it plenty of info up on Wikipedia “Hanford Site”and plenty videos of the original workers just before they died described a nightmare. There’s no machine that cleans this stuff out of water that’s why they build domes with 10 feet of concrete around the worst locations they are aware.Just an idea ,but Richland would be the perfect place to put a national homeless camp surly they can fit that into the $2 billion dollars yearly they waste our taxes on doing very little clean up.
